It's finally time for Student Volunteering Week 2018! With a range of events throughout the week, we have something for everyone to get involved with!

Monday 19th
  • Green Acts of Kindness - All Day
Once again we are running our Acts of Kindness challenge; this year with a Green theme! We are aiming to raise awareness of how everyday actions can build into a bigger picture of environmental action.

Tuesday 20th
  • Community Action Day - 10am - 4pm (drop in when you can) - Cromwell Park, Stanmore
Working in partnership with the Students Union, Winchester City Council and Osbourne, we are back out at Cromwell Park planting trees, trimming hedges and sprucing up the place!

Wednesday 21st
  • Environmental Audit - 10am - 12pm - On King Alfred Campus
Learn more about your degree! Earn accreditations and ice cream for taking part in our sustainable development curriculum audit.

  • Volunteering Pick and Mix - 10am - 2pm - Around Winchester
Take the opportunity to come and visit some of our local charities with us to find out about what they do and what it is like to volunteer with them!

  • LinkAges Afternoon Tea-Party - 1pm - 3pm - On King Alfred Campus
Our annual LinkAges Afternoon Tea-Party is back! Bringing the fantastic residents we work with to campus for music, quizzes, and a great time!

Thursday 22nd
  • Help for Heroes - get involved!
Come and find out what Help for Heroes is all about and how you can get involved! This fantastic local charity provides lifelong support to Service Personnel and Veterans with injuries and illness sustained while serving in the British Armed Forces. They deliver recovery programmes, grants, mental health support and fellowships at their amazing Recovery Centres.
You can get involved through volunteering, local fundraising or taking on one of their amazing challenges! You could even become Hero the Bear!
  • Volunteering Challenge - 11am - 2pm - On King Alfred Campus
Come get involved with our Tri-Table Bingo Challenge! We will be running three, yes THREE stalls on campus. At each stall there will be a selection of challenges that you will have to participate in to get that precious stamp from our wonderful volunteers. Take part in all the challenges and you'll be entered into a massive prize draw.

Friday 23rd
  • Habitat Building - 10am - 12pm - On King Alfred Campus
We will be working with the university's environmental team to create both hedgehog and bird boxes. These will then be used on campus to protect the wildlife living just next door to us

  • Hampshire Pride - 1pm till late - Around Winchester
It's time for Hampshire Pride 2018! There's loads going on and lots for you to get involved in - find about all the roles, opportunities and fun available here
