Pioneer is a 6 week course that gets students thinking about social enterprises and how to generate positive social and/or environmental change!
6 Week Programme - 1-2 hours a week
Pioneer offers a fantastic opportunity to build knowledge and understanding of what a social enterprise is and how it works. It consists of 6 weekly sessions, starting from the basics of what a social enterprise is, through to how to design a business model. Examples of training that is offered includes project management, communications and marketing as well as impact analysis.
You will also have the opportunity to go up against other South Coast Universities in the Dynamo Challenge - working with a real life charity/organisation on an issue that they are facing. This is an amazing way to get practical experience in problem solving and teamwork, helping to improve your CV!
We expect attendance to training once a week for between 1 and 2 hours.
In addition to the practical knowledge and understanding about social enterprise, Pioneer gives you a chance to visit partners in the community and find out their stories. You will meet like-minded people, build the network you need for your career and gain valuable experience for you CV.
Pioneer is committed to being an inclusive programme, and encurages all students to get involved. We can make reasonable adjustments to application processes, selection workshops and training sessions on a case-by-case basis.
We also provide ongoing support for the students we work with, so if you have particular accessibility needs, including if you want to disclose a disability or special educational needs, please do get in touch with Liz at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know how we can make the activity more accessible.
Volunteering for Winchester Hub is social and you'll have the chance to meet many like-minded people, but why not ask a friend to sign up with you too?
Email Liz at email@example.com - who will be able to answer any questions.
