Winchester/Hampshire
Alongside running volunteering opportunities and placements, Winchester Hub incubates new projects. In practice, this means we work with students and community partners to launch innovative ideas to tackle local and social issues.
You can approach us at any stage, whether you have a specific idea in mind, a fully fledged project plan, or just the motivation to start something new.
We aim to create a double benefit for both students and the local community. We do this by connecting students, sharing skills and knowledge, and giving practical opportunities to innovate.
We also run a social enterprise awards scheme called the Try It Awards which gives more structured support for students interested in starting a business with a social purpose. The programme involves seed funding (typically up to £500, with larger awards granted at the panel's discretion), as well as access to one-to-one support, training, and events at the Hub.
